I currently live in London, having moved here from Seattle in early 2018, and write in my free time. My projects include:

  • ASK Musings — Book and bookshop reviews, news round-ups, tips for making the move to the UK, and personal essays
  • Cannonball Read — Participant in annual race to read and review 52 books in support of cancer research (Posting as ASKReviews)

I’m also working on my first book, a guide to parents and kids for those who have chosen not to reproduce. This ill likely be titled How Not to Be A Jerk When Your Friends Have Kids: A Guide. The book will provide solid information on what parents face at the major stages of child development, interspersed with a healthy dose of snark, as well as anecdotes from my own life. The target audience is the childfree, but hopefully parents will read it to gain some perspective on what those who don’t have kids experience when their friends reproduce.

I currently work in Higher Education at King’s College London, as the Head of Business Management for the Students and Education Directorate. Prior to my move, I worked in emergency preparedness for Public Health – Seattle and King County for seven years. Before that, I spent four years working for New York City Emergency Management. I hold a Master of Science in Philosophy and Public Policy from the London School of Economics, a Master of Public Administration from New York University, and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Washington.
